One of the biggest trends continuing from last year is the denim skirt. Specifically the denim midi skirt but so many different lengths are available now so there is something for everyone. I was curious about trying the trend and whether or not I would like it, but now I can confidently say I love it! I’ve worn mine all through summer into fall and winter. Denim is a major backbone of my wardrobe so adding in jean skirts seemed like something I could easily style with things already in my closet.

Simple Tank with a Denim Midi Skirt

As with most of my denim pieces, I kept things simple which always works. Going for a basic white tank, strappy sandals (or white sneaker) and a neutral bag. I like the slim fit of many of the denim midi and maxi skirts that are trending right now and find that it’s a flattering style to wear. The high front slit makes it so easy to walk in and much more comfortable to wear in the summer. Scroll down below to see how I style this in the fall season.

I have to take a quick moment to rave about these tank tops I am wearing because I am obsessed! Finding tanks in the summer that work with a regular bra is a real pain but this one fits flawlessly and I love the slight detail on the seams.

White Button Down Shirt with a Denim Midi Skirt

This denim skirt is a tad shorter but I once again love the slimmer fit. A simple white linen button down shirt is always a great piece to wear with jeans so I knew it would look great with denim skirt.

I apply the same ideas to styling a denim midi skirt in the fall/winter as I do in the summer. Stick to basic pieces and a slim silhouette makes a denim skirt seem less trendy and more timeless. I wore a simple black turtleneck and pointy toe black suede knee high boots for this look and have repeated it so many times throughout the last fall and winter season. You can add in some fun accessories or a patterned coat to bring some color and/or texture to this look. Or even through on an oversized blazer to make it more suitable for a business casual environment.

I also prefer a denim midi skirt worn with knee high boots instead of ankle boots. The longer length of the knee high boot pairs well with the longer length of the skirt.

This looks like the most perfect simple black pencil skirt but it just happens to be denim!

Abercrombie Denim Midi Skirt

This one is a continuous best seller on Abercrombie and for good reason.

Bardot Jonah Midi Skirt

If you love a super high waisted style like myself, this would be a great option.

Madewell Rilee Denim Midi Skirt

I love the lighter wash and slightly distressed hem on this denim midi skirt. It gives it a relaxed and casual vibe.

Reformation High Waist Denim Midi Skirt

This is a completely different silhouette from any of the other denim skirts in this roundup but I thought it was too beautiful not to include. Definitely a more feminine style that would look beautiful dressed up or down.

Frame Button Front Denim Midi Skirt

The large button detail down the front of this skirt gives it a bit more texture which I really like.

If you are tall or want a maxi denim skirt, this one is a gorgeous option.

AGOLDE Gaia Skirt

I chose this one because the wash is closer to a typical denim wash and looks classic and timeless. Not too short and not too long. This skirt would be perfect for a canadian tuxedo look (denim shirt with a denim skirt).
