I’ve been slowly incorporating more Korean skincare products into my routine and I now understand why there is so much hype surrounding Korean beauty formulations. From the price points, to the advanced technology, to the incredibly effective formulations, Korean skincare is in a league of its own. I’m still familiarizing myself with many of the brands, but one of the most established beauty brands in Korea gaining popularity in the US is Tir Tir. I first began seeing TirTir products all over my social media feed nearly a year ago and my interest was immediately piqued because there were so many positive reviews. I first tried the viral TirTir Cushion Foundation and fell in LOVE with it. I then decided to branch out and try more from the brand, specifically their skincare. The Korean approach to skincare is quite different from the US approach and focuses more on soothing, hydrating and protecting the skin rather than trying to correct or fix the skin. There are Korean skincare products that utilize strong active ingredients to target specific concerns but much of their philosophy is centered around protecting and strengthening the skin. Much of the brand is vegan so for those who are looking for specific products that meet this criteria, TirTir has a ton of great options.

I’ve tried quite a few TirTir products both makeup and skincare and the Ceramic Milk Ampoule is one of my absolute favorite products. This is a 3-in-1 serum designed to provide deep nourishment, hydration and barrier protection for the skin. Now that I’m in my mid 40’s, my skin has gotten a lot drier and duller so adding in a richly moisturizing serum like this has made such a difference. I’ll share a full review on the TirTir Ceramic Milk Ampoule in today’s post as well as who I think it would be best suited for.

What Is TirTir Ceramic Milk Ampoule?

The TirTir Ceramic Milk Ampoule is a 3-in-1 milky serum designed to provide skin barrier support, deep hydration and nourishment for the skin. I love a creamy milky serum in my skincare routine so I had high hopes for this. After the first time trying it, I fell in love with the way it made my skin feel and look. Since my skin has progressively been getting drier and slightly more dull looking, I seek out products that help to moisturize my skin but also leave it looking glassy and dewy. This serum is absolutely perfect for those who love a glowy slightly glazed finish to the skin. I will layer it under a moisturizer most of the time which does tone down the glass-skin finish it leaves on the skin but that nourishment and intense hydration is still there. It’s become something I reach for regularly and plan to repurchase as soon as I finish the bottle.

TirTir Ceramic Milk Ampoule Review

Price Point

This is one of the most impressive things about nearly all Korean beauty and skincare – the price points are unbelievably affordable. The full size 40 ml Ceramic Ampoule is $35, the 30 ml bottle is $20 and there is a 10ml option for $13.

Packaging

I’m normally not a fan of pipette packaging but it hasn’t caused any issues so I am fine with it for this particular serum. Often Korean beauty products are not as glamorous in terms of their packaging aesthetic but their top tier formulations make this a completely irrelevant issue in my opinion. Their packaging is often focused on being useful rather than conveying a sense of luxury or prestige.

Texture

The Ceramic Milk Ampoule is creamy serum that feels like a mix between a milk and oil. There is a lot of slip to the product and is has a very silky texture. If you are used to a typical liquid serum that feels like water, this type of texture may take a bit getting used to but the results are worth it.

Ingredients

Because the milk ampoule is focused on deeply nourishing the skin and strengthening the skin barrier, the ingredients really reflect this. Vegan milk is one of the main ingredients which is derived from lactobacillus and soymilk fermentation and helps to intensely nourish and revive the skin. In addition, there is rice bran oil and coconut oil to support a healthy skin barrier and soften the skin. Finally there is squalane which provides long-lasting hydration because it locks in moisture and leaves the skin looking and feeling plump.

Benefits

This serum is going to deeply hydrate the skin and allow your skin to hold onto moisture longer. It helps to plump the skin, protect and strengthen the skin barrier and give your skin a glassy glow. Even though I use products in my skincare routine to target specific anti-aging concerns, adding in intensely nourishing and barrier protecting products has given me a glow and plumpness to my skin that I haven’t had in years.

Finish

This is a VERY dewy and glowy serum. It leaves the skin looking like you just had a facial without ever leaving your house. That being said, it does absorb nicely and doesn’t feel tacky or sticky on the skin. If I decide to use it in my morning skincare routine, it doesn’t disrupt my foundation or make me more shiny throughout the day.

How to Use

When it comes to skincare products, especially serums its best to apply thinnest to thickest. First be sure to shake it up to sufficiently mix the layers. Since this is a thicker formula, I usually apply this as the last serum in my skincare routine but before I apply my moisturizer. It’s perfect to use daily if you wanted or as needed anytime your skin is feeling dull or dehydrated. It can be used morning or evening and works well with any other skincare ingredients in your routine.

Skin Type

I definitely think that all skin types could benefit from a deeply nourishing and barrier protecting serum like the Ceramic Ampoule but not everyone may like the dewy glowy finish it gives. For those with oily or combination skin types, this may something that you use only at night a few times a week. For those with dry or mature skin types like myself, I could use this every single day morning and night and never get enough. LOL

Is TirTir Worth the Hype?

I have not tried every single product from TirTir so I can’t say it’s all amazing, but I have LOVED so many TirTir products – both makeup and skincare. There is a lot of hype surrounding the brand and I can definitely say it is warranted. The formulations are effective, priced affordably and consistently work well for my skin. Some things have worked better than others but it’s unrealistic to think that every single product from a brand will work for someone. The brand is quite extensive and has a large range of skus to choose from so there is something for everyone and all different skin types. I have also been VERY impressed with their willingness to improve their makeup shade range offerings when receiving feedback from their consumers. They have expanded the shades in their top selling Mask Fit Red Cushion Compact foundation and continue to add more shades to be able to offer something for everyone. And their introduction of these new shades has been quick rather than taking years to provide a more inclusive range. I honestly wish I would see this type of dedication to inclusivity from more brands especially those based in the United States.

If you want my top three recommendations from the TirTir brand, they would be the Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation, the TirTir Milk Skin Rice Toner and the TirTir Ceramic Milk Ampoule. I am still testing quite a few things from the brand but for now these are my favorite TirTir products.
