Last week, Stan and I took a drive up to Bear Mountain for the day. I am a fall foliage fanatic and am obsessed with taking in as much of it as I can. We drove around without an idea of exactly where we were going, but then came upon Bear Mountain Inn on our drive and stopped to walk around and have a quick picnic with some food we picked up on the way. It was definitely chilly but in the sun it was so beautiful that I was able to leave my vest in the car and just wear my chunky DKNY sweater. It’s a thick boiled wool, so it’s insanely warm and I loved how it was a bit longer than most of my sweaters. I’ve been wearing my new Chloe purse non-stop and am so happy I finally splurged on it after having it on my wish list for over a year. It’s always very gratifying when something you have saved and worked hard for ends up being a piece that you really love wearing and/or using. I have made too many purchases over the years on items I thought I would get tons of use out of, only to have them sit in my closet collecting dust (and eventually be given away or consigned). Thankfully I’ve learned my lesson and now know exactly what I like, making purchases that are less impulsive and more thought out. Yay to getting older.
