Spring is right around the corner (anyone else excited for that warm spring air?!) and even though I keep my makeup quite neutral all year round, there are definite shades and products I’ll be reaching for. The color palette I am gravitating towards is cool-toned neutrals for spring with a pinky cheek and neutral pinky lips. This kind of look looks beautiful during the spring season and especially with my spring wardrobe. I like a mix of both powder and cream textures for my eyeshadows especially and thought I would share with you what colors I will be wearing on my eyes this spring. For lips, I have a wide range of formulas and textures so there is something for everyone. A soft matte, a lip balm, a lip oil and a lip glaze!
Spring Makeup Neutrals
Neutral Spring Color Palette
From a subtle satin finish to bold radiant shimmer, I like to have a variety of textures to wear during the spring. I have been reaching more for solo shadows recently but there is one eyeshadow palette that I am absolutely obsessed with and think would be gorgeous to wear all spring and even into summer! Most of the colors are light neutrals and easy to wear day to day.
Natasha Denona I Need a Nude Palette
As someone that almost exclusively wears neutral eyeshadow colors, I immediately gasped when I saw the beauty that is the I Need a Nude palette. The colors are breathtaking and I LOVE that they skew more cool which is something that was lacking in my eyeshadow collection. I’ve always found Natasha Denona eyeshadows to be highly pigmented, great for a variety of skin tones, easy to blend and this palette was no exception. My favorite shades in the palette and the ones I reach for the most are Stone, Whisper, Fair and Sheen. You can create so many looks with this palette and it’s great for both day or night. If you are really craving a bright spring palette or something with bright colors (or even icy blues and greys), she does have a few other eyeshadow palettes that would be perfect to try.
Trinny London Cream Shadow in Mystery
I am in my cream makeup era and am reaching for cream products for my eyes and cheeks so much more now. Initially I thought the taupe cream eyeshadow (Mystery) was a matte shade and would possibly be too dark for my liking but as soon as I applied it, I was in LOVE! When I looked at it closer, I realized it was a shimmer finish but the shimmer is so subtle and sophisticated. It is slightly lighter in color than most of the other colors in this roundup and defines the lid perfectly. The formula is a bit dry so it doesn’t stay too creamy on the lid and dries down quickly with no creasing.
RMS Beauty Eyelights Cream Shadow in Strobe
Initially these cream shadows will go on quite shimmery but as you blend it out, the shimmer becomes much more muted which looks beautiful. Strobe is an easy to wear cool-toned taupe that isn’t too dark for daytime and looks polished and chic on the lids.
Make Beauty Multi-Chromatic Eyeshadow in Glaze
These shadows will make your eyelids GLISTEN and GLOW! These are richly pigmented from just one swatch. There is a tad bit of fallout so use a light hand when applying. They blend really easily and the shimmer doesn’t sheer out the more you blend it which I personally love. My absolute favorite shade is Glaze. It is breathtaking and even more beautiful in person. Out of all the eye colors I shared, this one has a warm undertone but still would look great with the lip colors I have suggested.
Bright Spring Neutral Lip Color
I like to wear a mix of petal pink shades and neutral pink shades as my everyday lip color especially in the spring. I chose five lip colors that could work for a variety of lifestyles and would be appropriate to wear to the workplace as well as running errands on the weekends.
Laura Mercier Petal Soft Lipstick Crayon in Amelie
This is by far one of the best matte lip formulas I have ever tried! It’s incredibly lightweight, creamy and has a soft velvety matte finish that makes your lips look beautiful. It almost has a blurring effect on the lips and this particular color is a gorgeous subtle bright and warm petal pink. (Laura Mercier discount code: MAREE20)
Summer Fridays Lip Oil in Blush Dreams
I have loved nearly every Summer Fridays product I have tried and these new Dream Lip Oils are no exception. I have quite a few lip oils and love the creamy, smooth texture that gives just a hint of color and a ton of shine. So I was hoping for that type of experience with the Dream Lip Oils and they did not disappoint. Blush Dreams and Soft Mauve are so polished and chic. They would look great on the weekend but also could be a great option for work.
Summer Fridays Lip Balm in Vanilla Beige
If you want something to just throw in your bag and use to touch up throughout the day, this lip butter balm is perfect! It’s incredibly nourishing and the color is rich enough on its own to wear with a full face of makeup but would also look great with just a tinted sunscreen and nothing else. Wear it alone for a touch of color or layer it over your favorite lip liner or lipstick for an added bit of shine.
Haus Labs Lip Glaze in Macaron
These are designed to be a burn-free plumping gloss that fuses a lip oil, balm and gloss in one. I really like the texture because it seems to fall right in the middle in terms of thickness. It’s thick enough to provide great color payoff, but not too thick that it feels sticky or tacky. Macaron is the most gorgeous petal pink and looks so beautiful for everyday.
Rhode Peptide Lip Tint in Toast
It’s a sheer but slightly buildable lip color that helps to nourish and hydrate the lips. Toast is my second favorite shade and skews a bit more neutral brown on the lips yet still looks beautiful for everyday. The formula is nearly identical to the Peptide Lip Treatment and makes the lips look glossy and glass-like. They are so comfortable and easy to wear throughout the day and last longer than I anticipated. Usually I don’t have to reapply until around hour 3 or 4 (which I think is pretty decent for a lip balm).
