To all who celebrated, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! I love the entire 2 months leading up to Christmas, but as soon as the day is over there is always a bit of a letdown. Mainly because I know winter is now here and we have many more months of super cold weather to get through. *insert crying emoji* I’m naturally someone that is always cold (even in the dead of summer, and even when I was pregnant) so I will always prefer warmer weather.
But on the brighter side, after Christmas sales are sometimes as good if not better than after Thanksgiving! I’ve already been up this morning perusing some of my favorite sites itching to spend my gift cards I received yesterday. One trend that I have seen a ton this season is the sock bootie. I actually purchased the Stuart Weitzman boots I’m wearing in today’s post last year, which seemed cute and classic at the time but look very similar to the sock bootie trend that’s everywhere now. The fitted sock bootie style is great for dresses or skirts (I wore these boots in this post with this leopard dress, and this pic with this flared skirt), but also work with jeans that may be too short or too bulky to tuck in. This picture is a perfect example of wearing sock booties with a pair of jeans that weren’t fitted enough to tuck in. The fitted ankle of the boots works well with the cuff and actually makes the jeans look sleeker and slimmer.
I lived in stretchy, fitted dresses during my pregnancy (remember this look and this look) and still love them after! This black and red number is slim but has amazing stretch to it so I didn’t feel it was showing every last lump and bump. LOL And the body con style worked well with the fitted look of my ankle boots. There are a wide variety of sock bootie styles out now and I selected some of the best looking ones and put them in the shopping widget below. Scroll through to see them all!
