Lady jacket | Skirt | Boots | Bag (similar) | Sunglasses
I was never a huge cardigan lover years ago. Many of the styles seemed dated and not that flattering so I never gravitated towards them. Fast forward to the past two years and the emergence of the “lady jacket” has completely won me over. The “lady jacket” style is a mix between a cardigan and cropped jacket. Most have a bit of a structured feel to them and there are a variety of fabrics and styles available now. I have fully embraced the trend and absolutely LOVE wearing them. I have styled them buttoned up as a sweater or worn open as a cardigan/jacket over a camisole or tank. There are so many amazing colors, textures and styles available now so I thought I would round up a handful of my favorites in one post.
My Favorite Lady Jackets
Lady jacket | Jeans | Shoes | Bag | Sunglasses
This is my absolute favorite lady jacket style because of how well it fits. It’s similar to a ton of other styles but I love that I can button it without any gaping and wear it alone as a sweater. It also feels closer to a knit jacket than a cardigan so it keeps me warm. There is now a short sleeve version that I really want to get!
Lady jacket | Jeans | Shoes | Bag (discount code: MAREE15) | Sunglasses
This is the closest out of all my lady jackets to a traditional cardigan because it is a lightweight knit and has a drapey slouchy fit. That being said, I wear it so much because the knit is more lightweight and breathable. So it will be the perfect summer to fall transition piece.
Lady Jacket | Jeans | Belt (similar) | Shoes | Bag (similar)
Instead of buttons, this one has hook and eye closures which I loved. A really good structured fit and the color blocking of the black and white is so chic!
Lady Jacket | Camisole (similar) | Bag | Jeans (similar) | Sunglasses | Shoes
This is the iconic J.Crew Emilie Lady Jacket that is so popular. While I do like it and the fit is really great (the sleeves fit me much better than the Abercrombie version), I would still pick the Abercrombie option over this. The Abercrombie one is a bit more structured and fits my bust better when buttoned up.

This is the same Emilie jacket in a different colorway.
Best Lady Jackets to Buy For Fall
Mango Yellow Tweed Lady Jacket
I’m not normally someone who loves yellow, but this is a muted yellow and falls in the neutral category for me. I also love the fringe edge detail on this.
Mango Black and White Tweed Lady Jacket
This is a great way to wear a pattern without it actually being that bold. The black and white tweed is subtle but really makes a statement.
Anthropologie Black with White Piping Lady Jacket
Most of the time piping is in color alone which creates a contrast, but I love that the piping on this lady jacket is also textured.
J.Crew Factory White with Black Piping Lady Jacket
This is a classic style and look that will be timeless for years to come. Very Chanel-esque but at a fraction the price.
Target Striped Knit Lady Jacket
Yay Target!! I ordered this one from Target and can definitely say that it is as nice in person as it looks in pictures. And there is extended sizing available!
Abercrombie Short Sleeved Lady Jacket
This is the same material and style as my favorite one from Abercrombie but just with a shorter sleeve. This will be perfect transitioning from summer to fall but is also a great option if you live somewhere that doesn’t get very cold in the winter.
J.Crew Factory Camel Striped Lady Jacket
I ordered this one and can’t wait to style it! My favorite part of the entire style is the braided detail going down the front and collar of the lady jacket.
Abercrombie Sage Green Lady Jacket
Sage green is a neutral to me so I would wear this with many different things in my closet. It’s a nice change from black, cream or tan but still will look great with a variety of pieces.
Mango Cream Knit Lady Jacket
Between the fit and the overabundance of gold buttons on this lady jacket, it may be my favorite out of all the ones I shared in this roundup. It looks SO much more expensive than it is and can be dressed up or down. If you work in an office and need more professional pieces that still look chic, this one is a must buy!
