Before purchasing this denim skirt last year, I had not worn one for almost a decade. I am not quite sure my aversion to them – maybe they felt a bit dated to me even though I always loved when I would see them on other bloggers and friends. So when I was browsing the J. Crew website recently, I saw this white one with the frayed hem and thought it looked like a great option for spring and summer. I picked up the regular size first and the skirt fell well below my knees which was not flattering with such a casual skirt. I returned it for the petite size and loved how well it fit! During that same online shopping trip, I bought this chambray top because…well, can one ever have too many chambray tops?! (no is the answer, unless you hate chambray then you are excluded from this sentiment) Usually I will tuck in my button down shirts in the winter (though I hate it), but when the spring and summer comes around, I love to tie it up in the front. Since I am no longer 18 (and thank goodness for that), I only do it when wearing something high-waisted because no ones needs me to be walking around with low rise jeans and a super high cropped shirt, ya know? But if you are like me and hate tucking in your shirt, this is a cute option and it gives me a smidge of extra room. (extra room for something like this perhaps. Eek!)
