Westman Atelier Makeup ReviewI was not a huge fan of Westman Atelier makeup a few years ago when I tried a handful of things from the brand. Everything felt a bit too emollient and dewy for my slightly combination skin at the time. Fast forwards to today and my skin type and texture have really changed and I LOVE Westman Atelier products. I now understand all the glowing Westman Atelier makeup reviews and why it’s so beloved. I wanted to share a full review on the brand so you can decide if it is worth trying for yourself.

Westman Atelier Makeup Review

Westman Atelier is a makeup brand founded by celebrity makeup artist Gucci Westman. She is well known in the industry and has decades of experience doing makeup on hundreds of clients and celebrities. A few years ago she launched her namesake brand, Westman Atelier. The brand is positioned as a luxury brand with luxury price points. That being said, I do think the formulations are spectacular and perform at a level that I would expect from such a luxurious makeup brand. I have a few dedicated blog posts for certain Westman Atelier products but wanted to have a brand review post where I share everything I’ve tried as well as update it with future launches.

Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick

This foundation stick is my favorite Westman Atelier product AND my favorite foundation stick. It gives light coverage that can be built up, blends in seamlessly and makes your skin look like it’s just had a facial. It’s fresh and dewy natural finish without ever being too glowy. It is truly the perfect embodiment of a skin-like complexion product formulated with camellia seed oil, squalane and coconut oil. I like to apply it directly to my skin and blend in with either a foundation brush or damp makeup sponge.

It looks nearly perfect after I first apply it, but it manages to look better as the day goes on! I have rarely ever found a complexion product that looks better the longer it is on my skin but this is definitely true for the Westman Atelier Vital Stick Foundation. If you have oily or combination skin, I still think this would work but may require a setting powder or light dusting down the t-zone to help prevent shine. If you have normal or dry skin, this is an absolute DREAM! Truly one of the best complexion products I have ever used.

I tried the Vital Skincare Complexion Drops a few years ago and couldn’t make it work for my combination skin. Now that my skin is more dry, I want to try it again because I love a liquid skin tint. Westman Atelier doesn’t have an extensive skincare range right not but many people rave about the Skin Activator Serum formulated with 4 types of hyaluronic acid.

Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick

Absolutely flawless. This contour stick is smooth, creamy and easy to blend. While it is designed to be a contour product and sculpt the face, I use it in the same way I do a traditional bronzer. It’s sheer but can be built up for more intensity. My favorite shade is Biscuit which is a cooler-toned contour that looks soft and natural on the skin. For a traditional bronzer, Westman Atelier has two options: the Beauty Butter Powder Bronzer (I would probably wear shade Coup de Soleil) and the Sun Tone Bronzing Drops (I plan to order these in Shade 1).

Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick

The Westman Atelier Blush Stick is a cream blush formula designed to give a soft wash of buildable color with a satin finish. They are a lightweight hydrating formula that melts into the skin easily without leaving a tacky or greasy feel. They leave my cheeks looking fresh without being too dewy or shiny. I primarily use them on my cheeks but they are also suitable to use on the lips.

Westman Atelier Eye Want You Mascara

I really wanted to love this mascara but sadly it was not a hit for me. I love a thick, dramatic and volumizing mascara but this was too wispy and soft. The formula is wonderful and there is little to no flaking or smudging but it’s not intense enough for me. If you do love a very natural and soft lash for everyday, this is a fantastic option.

Westman Atelier Lip Suede Matte Lipstick

I prefer a gloss or oil formula on my lips but this is one of the few matte lipsticks that really impressed me. It is buttery soft and smooth with a gorgeous velvety soft blurring finish. Many matte lipsticks emphasize lines but this is one of the few that does not.

Westman Atelier Lip Shape Lip Liner

As someone who rarely ever wore lip liner and now wears it every single day because my lip line is slowly disappearing (ugh, aging!), I really enjoy these liners. They are a traditional pencil formula with a creamy smooth texture that doesn’t skip as you apply. That being said, I don’t find them to be better than similar lip liners at a lower price point. The shades are beautiful but I definitely feel like you can find them from tons of less pricey brands.

Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick

These are highlighter sticks designed to give the skin an ethereal and luminous glow without being too much. It’s a hydrating formula that melts into the skin seamlessly. It gives a fresh face “just had a facial” glow rather than an unnatural sparkly highlight. There are a few pale shades to wear on the cheekbones and a few darker shades that can be worn as a glowy blush. If you prefer a liquid highlighter instead, try her Liquid Super Loaded Tinted Highlight.
