I first fell in love with Then I Met You after trying their top selling cleansing balm which has now become one of my all time favorite cleansers. I was curious to try out more from the brand Then I Met You and thought I would give me thoughts on all the products I’ve tested. Their founder, Charlotte Cho, is a pioneer in the beauty world after creating the website Soko Glam which brought popular Korean skincare products to the US. She finally started her own skincare line and has grown it slowly and intentionally with thoughtfully formulated products rooted in the techniques and ingredients found in Korean beauty culture. If you have not yet tried the brand, I highly recommend reading my reviews on these products to find something that would work for your skincare routine. Then I Met You Skincare Reviews
Living Cleansing Balm
A gorgeous creamy cleansing balm that will nourish your skin while also removing every last bit of makeup. It’s not quite as oily as the Elemis cleansing balm but still rich in essential fatty acids, vitamin E and antioxidants. It is oil-based so it’s best to apply on dry skin with dry hands. Massage all over the face until you’ve broken down all your makeup then add a bit of water to emulsify it. Don’t go right into removing it without letting the tiny bit of water (just damp hands is fine) continue to break down all your makeup. Once that is complete, rinse it off completely and your skin will feel hydrated, soft and supple.
Bong Bounce Cream
A lightweight gel-cream that delivers nourishment and barrier support. If you need something intensive to help with dry skin or sensitive skin but prefer a lighter texture, this is the cream to try. It won an Allure Best of Beauty award last year which is very well deserved. Even though I love a rich moisturizer, I reach for this so much because it makes my skin so soft and supple.
Snail Mucin Eye Cream
Then I Met You is very intentional with their product line so they only launch new products when it makes sense for the brand and it adds value. This is their newest product which took them years to formulate. It’s an eye cream designed to help plump, smooth and firm the skin around the eyes. The two main hero ingredients are snail mucin complex and volufiline which both help with plumping the skin and ultimately helping to restore under-eye volume. I have only been testing it for a short time so I can’t give a full review yet but first impressions are 10/10. I have been using it in the morning because it’s incredibly hydrating and wears beautifully under makeup.
The Giving Essence
I’ve been incorporating essences into my skincare routine for nearly a decade. An essence is thicker than a toner but more lightweight than a serum. It’s best to be used after you have cleansed and toned but before you apply your serums. Essences can help boost the absorption of your serums and add an additional layer of hydration into your skincare routine. The Giving Essence is formulated with a proprietary blend of fermented ingredients which is designed to brighten, calm and reduce inflammation. When using an essence, it’s best to pour it into your hands and then pat gently into the skin.
Renewing Rich Beauty Cream
This moisturizer is a step up from the Bong Bounce Cream. It is richer in texture and really cocoons the skin leaving it well hydrated and supple. If you prefer a traditional cream moisturizer that helps deliver intense moisture and barrier support, this is a great option.
Rose Resurfacing Facial Mask
This is the mask I reach for when I want to tackle any texture on my skin. It’s a gentle yet effective resurfacing mask formulated with both AHA and BHA complexes. In addition to the chemical exfoliation it gives you, there is Damask rose in the formula to help soothe and support the skin barrier. It gently removes dead skin cells, improves skin texture while also adding a boost of hydration.
Honey Dew Lip Mask
A treat treatment lip mask that works so well because it helps to nourish while also giving a gentle exfoliation. I prefer to use this at night and apply a thick layer on before bed. In addition to squalane and honey which helps to moisturize and hydrate, the Honey Dew Lip Mask contains lactic acid which offers that extra bit of exfoliation that really helps to smooth and soften the lips.
