Getting dressed each day is one of my favorite things and I’ve always loved putting together outfits. But I would be lying if I said that getting dressed during the warmer months is not a struggle. I am not as motivated to experiment with different looks and just want to wear anything that won’t make me overheat. However, once the weather cools down and fall is on the horizon, my motivation picks back up and I get excited to get dressed again! Dressing for fall is the best and allows me to play around with different looks and styles without overheating or needing to be bundled up. I’ve already started going through my closet to pull out my fall favorites. There are a few stand out pieces that I am most excited to rewear again this year. Here are those top picks!
The Fall Pieces I Plan on Rewearing This Year

Striped turtleneck and wide leg jeans
ThisĀ striped turtleneck is one piece that I have worn repeatedly throughout fall and winter. It’s a lightweight material and perfect for the temperate fall weather.
Wide leg and trouser style jeans are trending heavily this year and this pair from Spanx is an absolute 10/10. They pull on so there are no zippers or buttons and they have a slight compression aspect to them that many Spanx pieces do. I will say that they do run long even the petite option. I am wearing the petite version and have to wear a heel with them but they make my legs look a mile long.

Fuzzy Cardigan
This cardigan was a random Amazon find last year and ended up being one of my favorite fall outerwear pieces. It looks like a cardigan but is much heavier and feels more like a lightweight coat. I love the textured look and feel of it and find that it adds so much interest to an outfit.

Plaid Blazer
I bought this blazer a few years ago and still wear it every fall and into winter. It’s a simple shape and semi-structured fit that looks great with jeans or trousers. The colors in the blazer are all neutral so it’s easy to style with so many different pieces in my closet.

Quilted Jacket
I’m sure you are sensing a theme in all the pieces I am excited to rewear this year – they are all outerwear! LOL Fall is my favorite time of year because I don’t have to bundle up yet and can wear all my coats, blazers and jackets without having to layer too much underneath. This quilted jacket became one of my most worn casual jackets because it has a gorgeous classic fit and looks great with jeans or even dressed up a bit with trousers. The stand up collar is my favorite detail and the length is exactly what I prefer my jackets to be. Not too long and not too short – a perfect length for petite OR tall ladies.

Waterfall Cardigan
I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with cardigans because many feel frumpy and shapeless. So when I find one that doesn’t fall into those categories, I have to share it. The waterfall collar on this cardigan is what really makes it stand out. There is a belt as well but I will sometimes skip the belt and just leave the cardigan open.

Houndstooth Cardigan
This houndstooth cardigan is a splurge but when I tell you that you can immediately feel why as soon as you touch it, I am truly serious. This cardigan feels almost like a mix between a cardigan and blazer. It’s a heavy knit fabric that does not wrinkle and hangs beautifully. It runs a tad oversized so I belted it and was immediately obsessed with the entire look. It’s giving academic chic in the best way. LOL

Denim Shirt
Obviously I love jeans for fall, but a gorgeous denim or chambray blouse is always going to be on trend. A darker wash such as this one is a bit more season appropriate and love how it will look great with leather, plaid, stripes – basically any print or texture you can think of will work with a chambray/denim shirt.

Bomber Jacket
This jacket sold out almost immediately as soon as fall arrived so I would order it now because it will sell out again. The price point is just under $100 but feels so much more expensive than that. The details on this one are what made me fall in love with it. The faux fur trim, the buckle straps on the neck, the black piping against the dark brown faux leather – it’s all 10/10!

Jacket Cardigan
This may be a jacket/cardigan hybrid but many brands are now calling them jardigans. I honestly don’t care what they are called but love that they now exist! Ha! A blazer mixed with a cardigan – yes, please. This one is from M.M. LaFleur which is a workwear brand that makes some of the more gorgeous professional pieces for the workplace. Even though I don’t work in an office, I still found myself reaching for this jardigan over and over because of how comfortable it was and immediately made any outfit look more polished. It comes in a few different colors and also has a belt which offers more styling options.

Puffy Vest
If I’m being honest, I love fall clothing but cannot layer too much or I will immediately be overstimulated. Thank you, perimenopause. If a jacket is too bulky or the arms are too tight or the collar is bothering me, I will never wear it. And when I am wearing sweats, I never know what coat to wear over it because sometimes things feel too constricting over a bulky sweatshirt. Enter the puffy vest. I literally just had this laying on a small couch in my bedroom throughout the entire fall season because I would grab it nearly anytime I was leaving the house in casual outfits. It does offer some warmth and the length is perfect so I know I will be wearing it as much again this year.
