Summer Looks

I’m not going to miss the heat and humidity, but I am going to miss how easy it is to get dressed in the summer. I wore this cute boho mini dress to dinner last night and was able to get dressed in under 5 minutes flat. LOL And I love having quick pieces like this in my closet that I can grab and throw on for a last minute dinner.

I loved the block heel trend all summer (and frankly wore the heck out of these since the day I bought them), so I was so excited to see that it was still going strong for the upcoming fall season. Splurging on this amazing pair seemed like a comfortable yet chic way to enjoy the trend but still have a pair of shoes that would last me for years to come. As someone that lives for a heel under 3 inches, I couldn’t be happier that most of the ones I have seen are that height or under. I won’t miss the humidity of summer, but I can’t say I am completely ready to begin transitioning my closet. This past weekend it was a bit chilly and overcast, but I still threw on some shorts, sandals and a tee for wandering around Dumbo, Brooklyn. I am not the biggest expert in layering which is why I probably prefer summer clothes a bit more. It seems easier to pull together a complete look without having to add 15,000 different pieces. While I always admire the bloggers that can accessorize the heck out of an outfit, I tend to like keeping things  simple. Shoes, clothes, bag and I’m out the door. If I wear jewelry, it’s typically one piece and adding sunglasses is something I do occasionally. They always rub off my makeup anyways which frustrates me! I know I can’t delay the inevitable but that doesn’t stop me from hoping we can get a few more weeks out of summer clothes.
