The beginning of the year is always one of the biggest time for new beauty launches and there have been quite a few new ones that I LOVE! Summer Fridays has been a brand that I’ve used and enjoyed for years. They manage to make great products at reasonable price points – and the buzz surrounding each new launch is always big. Lip Oils have been a huge trend in the beauty industry for the past 2 years and brands continue to put out their own lip oil formulations to meet this demand. It’s a nice idea blending a lip gloss with skincare benefits to create a product that looks and feels good on the lips but also has great benefits for the lips. Summer Fridays came out with their own lip oil formula called the Dream Lip Oils in 4 shades. As soon as they launched, they sold out almost immediately but I managed to get my hands on 3 out of the 4 colors. They are a permanent product so there will be a restock in case you missed out initially.
Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil Review
I have loved nearly every Summer Fridays product I have tried and these new Dream Lip Oils are no exception. I have quite a few lip oils and love the creamy, smooth texture that gives just a hint of color and a ton of shine. So I was hoping for that type of experience with the Dream Lip Oils and they did not disappoint.
Texture
It’s super creamy with a ton of slip and not a bit of stickiness.
Ingredients
The Dream Lip Oils contain nine plant-based oils as well as vitamin E to protect, nourish and soften the lips. While they definitely look great with a full face of makeup, they can easily be a great lip balm type product to use throughout the day whenever your lips get dry.
Price Point
Summer Fridays has always priced their products reasonably – falling in the mid-range price point. Not too high to be considered luxury, but not too low to be in a drugstore category. The Dream Lip Oils are priced at $26 each.
Packaging
The packaging has always been a key component of Summer Fridays popularity especially since the brand was founded by two influencers. I love the large doe foot applicator and simple understated packaging.
Color Payoff
These are definitely sheer and don’t deliver a ton of color but enough to show up nicely. Because they are so sheer, you will need to reapply often since they are not that long wearing.
Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil Swatches
There are 4 colors total in the range but I purchased only 3. I bought Pink Cloud, Blush Dreams and Soft Mauve. The fourth color is Rosewood Nights. All 3 shades that I picked up are super wearable and perfect for everyday! Pink Cloud looks so bright in the tube but manages to be so subtle on the lips – a great option for spring and summer! Blush Dreams and Soft Mauve are so polished and chic. They would look great on the weekend but also could be a great option for work. My personal favorite (which surprised me) was Soft Mauve. It is swatches quite deep on my arm but looks much more muted on the lips. It’s absolutely gorgeous!! Here is a quick breakdown of each shade:
