Black flats are a must have in any wardrobe but you don’t always have to choose something simple. These Aquazzura Christy Flats were one of my first designer flats I purchased many years ago because I wanted flats that looked chic but were still comfortable. They were hugely popular at the time but sadly they discontinued this style a few years ago (which honestly never made any sense to me but okkkkk), however Aquazzura does have a ton of gorgeous flats in chic styles. The Love Affair flat is the closest style to the Christy with a strap around the ankle and a similar pointy shape. Ballet flats are trending at the moment so there are so many cute black flats out there that can be just as chic and stylish as heels.
Review of the Aquazzura Christy Flats
I seriously wore the heck out of these flats for yearssss – wearing them all year round. Some are still available on resale sites so if you ever decide to hunt down a pair, they do fit true to size. You can wrap the straps with the knot in the front or in the back which can change up the look a bit. They do start out quite stiff but soften over time. But since they are discontinued for purchasing brand new, here are a few other Aquazzura flats that are absolutely stunning.
Parisina Ballet Flats
There are ones that have a crystalized bow or a simple leather bow, but either way I love the simplicity of these. There is now a mesh version that are totally on my wishlist.
Bow Tie Ballet Flats
Instead of the bow being at the front of the shoe, there is a bow detail on the heel. They look so feminine and gorgeous to wear casually or style them with a professional look for the office.
Love Affair Flats
These are the closest in style to the Christy with the strap detail around the ankle.

Black Flats with Leather Pants
Even though these are a black and white tweed, they also come in all black and would look great with this exact outfit. When choosing black flats, try to find a pair with some texture so that it will add interest to your look without adding any additional color. I love mixing textures and black flats look great worn with (faux) leather pants. It dresses them down a bit and makes them less edgy looking.

Black Flats with a Blazer
The two cornerstones of a basic wardrobe – a black blazer and black flats. I love the slightly preppy look of loafers and think they work especially well with a black blazer. This one is a true statement piece with the gold buttons and works perfectly styled with simple black loafers.

Black Flats with Cropped Pants
Obviously black flats work for almost any occasion, but they are especially perfect for wearing to the workplace. Pick a pair with a tad bit of detail or texture and wear them with your favorite cropped pants. The shorter length of the pants will show off the shoes perfectly.

Black Flats with Denim
When you don’t want to wear sneakers with your straight leg or skinny jeans but still want your feet to be comfortable, black flats are the answer. Mary Jane style flats are popular right now and I have been loving the way they look. They add a slightly feminine touch to the edginess of the distressed jeans.
