I’ve shared some singular reviews of foundations or skin tints I am using and enjoying but I thought I would update this post from a few years ago with my current favorites. I have found a group of foundations/skin tints that I absolutely love and thought I would share in case you are looking for a new one to add into your daily makeup routine. My skin is a tad more normal to slightly dry as I get older so I do like a moisturizing formula. I also prefer a natural skin finish. Nothing too matte or too dewy – I want my skin to look like healthy skin that just had a facial.

While I like to have light to slightly medium coverage, I want it to still feel weightless on my skin and hopefully last at least 6-8 hours without separating or getting patchy. I thankfully have found 6 that fit most of these criteria and some also have great sun protection which is an added bonus!

TirTir Mask Fit Cushion Foundation

TirTir markets this as a medium to full coverage, weightless foundation with a soft satin finish. And I can say that is really spot on with my experience. It’s designed to give you that “glass skin” look that is been popular in Korea for many years and is now trending heavily in the US market. Glass skin is the term coined to describe skin that looks like glass. Shiny, smooth and almost translucent in its clarity. This foundation definitely delivers somewhat on this claim for as much as real skin can actually look like glass.

A bit of hyperbole but the foundation really does smooth out and hide imperfections in the most amazing way. I have three shades that I’ve been testing because there are just SO many shades to choose from so it can be a bit daunting. Thankfully they have mini sizes you can order which are $15.

L’Oreal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum

As I have gotten older, I definitely find that lightweight foundations and skin tints look better on my face. I have tried this Tinted Serum Foundation before but had the wrong shade so this time I got the correct shade and fell in love with it even more. It’s designed to be lightweight skin tint with skincare benefits – most specifically hyaluronic acid which helps hydrate the skin. It’s not thin and runny like a serum and has a thicker texture much like a foundation. But product names aside, the texture is still lightweight and super easy to blend. It truly feels like I am not wearing anything on my skin – so weightless! (Full review here)

Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint

I am huge lover of hyaluronic acid because of its ability to hold onto moisture in the skin, deeply hydrate and plump the skin. So I was thrilled to see that it is one of the ingredients in the Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint. In addition to hyaluronic acid, it contains plant-based squalane and meadowfoam seed oil that help to nourish the skin making it appear and feel smoother throughout the day. You will notice the immediate effects of this hydrating and nourishing formula. Because the skin instantly looks plump and supple after applying.

The tint is super lightweight and comfortable on the skin. But I was worried that it would not hold up in the heat and humidity. Or at the very least it would begin to pull apart around my chin or nose. I wore it for a full 10 hours multiple days in a row. And was shocked at how well it wore. It didn’t get additionally shiny or greasy. And there was only one day that my chin got a little patchy looking. But I attributed that to not drinking enough water (I always see patchiness on my chin if I am dehydrated). I also think this would be a gorgeous formula to wear into fall and winter. It will help keep the skin moisturized in the cold weather.

Trinny London BFF De-Stress

This says that it is a tinted serum but to be honest, it has coverage more like a lightweight foundation and feels like a tinted moisturizer! My favorite part of applying this is that is literally feels cooling on my skin – so refreshing. It is supposed to give a fresh glowy finish but I actually find that it looks more natural on me. It makes my skin look healthy and like I just had a great facial. Like many other of the formulas I shared, it contains hyaluronic acid and does an amazing job at making my skin look plump and bouncy. A must have for mature skin types!

Missha M Perfect BB Cream

This is my newest discovery but after only ONE USE, it has shot up to this elite group of favorite foundations. It is considered a BB cream but provides coverage like a true foundation. It gives medium coverage yet still manages to feel like I’m wearing nothing on the skin. Additionally, it is one of my longest wearing foundations! I will put it on in the morning and it doesn’t budge until I take it off at night. It gives my skin the creamiest and smoothest finish out of this entire group and it provides sun protection too. The only downside to this is the limited shade range. I use both shade 21 and 23 and find they can both work separately or even mixed together. However, the formula and the way it makes my skin looks does override this for me but I did want to mention that.

RMS Beauty Sun Coverup (discount code: Maree-15)

I love so many RMS beauty products and this new complexion launch is another hit. It is a tinted sunscreen but to be honest, it wears and performs more like a foundation than a sunscreen. It gives amazing coverage so you only need a tiny amount to cover the entire face. It’s long wearing though it is a very dewy finish so I would recommend setting your t-zone with a powder to tone down a bit of the shine. If you are oily, I am not sure this would be a great option because of how moisturizing it is so I would recommend this more for those with dry or mature skin.
