Holiday palettes and collections are already being released and I could not be happier!! Fall and holiday are my favorite time when it comes to new beauty launches and the highly anticipated Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked palettes have arrived. Between the packaging and the colors in the palette, these are a makeup lovers dream. And I know many of you collect these each year (see the Hourglass holiday palette 2022 here) so be sure to grab them before they sell out. Also, Hourglass generously provided me with an ongoing discount code for their site which will get you 10% off – and this includes all the new holiday launches! Use code: MAREE at checkout to get 10% off your order.
I’ve been an Hourglass cosmetics fan for more than 10 years and remember when the Ambient Lighting Finishing powders launched years ago. They were revolutionary because they were one of the first powders designed to blur and provide a “filtered” look to the skin. Since the original powders launched, they have come out with the Ambient Lighting Blush, Ambient Lighting Bronzer, Ambient Lighting Strobe Powder and the Ambient Lighting Infinity Powder. There are travel sizes available and palettes that contain your entire Ambient Lighting Powder wardrobe.
Hourglass Holiday Palettes
For this year, there are four limited edition Holiday Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked palettes. Three palettes will be available at all Hourglass retailers and one is exclusive to the Hourglass website. You can also customize the palette and choose the packaging you want with the palette combination available. The artwork on the packaging was done by artist Katie Scott and features a snake, leopard, jellyfish and owl. In addition, 5% of the annual profits from this collection will go to Nonhuman Rights Project which is an organization designed to protect animal rights. I have three of the palettes to share with you today along with the limited edition Veil Travel Powder Brush and the limited edition Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm duo.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked – Jellyfish Palette
The Jellyfish palettes contains the palest shades and is the one that I have been reaching for the most. There are three bestselling shades (two finishing powders and one bronzer) along with three brand new shades of blush, bronzer and highlighter. The shades in the palette are: Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light, Ambient Lighting Blush in Rose Fusion (new), Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Powder in Opal Strobe Light (new), Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Lunar Bronze (new), Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat and Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked – Leopard Palette
The leopard palette contains more medium shades that would also work for a wide variety of skin tones. There are five bestselling shades (one finishing powder, two blushes, one bronzer and one highlighter) and one brand new shade of blush. The shades in the palette are: Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light, Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Powder in Celestial Strobe Light, Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure, Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush in Iridescent Rose, Ambient Lighting Blush in Ethereal Flush (new) and Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Lustrous Bronze Light.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked – Snake Palette
The tones in the snake palette are the richest and most deep and would look great on more medium to deep skin tones. I think someone with pale skin would like it but must use a light hand when applying. There is one bestselling shade (one lighting powder) and five new shades of bronzer, blush and highlighter. The shades in the palette are: Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light, Ambient Lighting Blush in Coral Haze (new), Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Powder in Infinite Strobe Light, Ambient Lighting Blush in Sun Beam (new), Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush in Mystic Flush (new) and Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Solar Bronze (new).

Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm Duo review
I am a huge lover of the Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balms and feel they are one of the best feeling lipstick/balm hybrids I’ve tried. They combine the hydration of a lip balm with the high shine finish of a lip gloss and deliver a slight plumping effect (without any tingling). The pigmentation is medium with the formula not being too sheer or too opaque and last relatively well for a few hours. You will need to reapply these at least once or twice a day. The color range is absolutely gorgeous and they have a versatile selection of neutrals, nudes, reds and pinks. I will say that the bolder colors are still very wearable because of the glossy sheer nature of the formula so if you are not comfortable wearing an intense bold red or coral but want a pop of color, these are the perfect option!
For the limited edition holiday duo, the two glossy balm shades in the set are Crave and Haze. Haze is a best selling rosewood hue which looks a bit red in the packaging but on the lips is more rosy and rich. Crave is a new color just available in this duo and it is by far my favorite of the two! It’s a warm pink that looks stunning for everyday. I have been wearing it alone or layered over the new Jones Road Beauty Lip Liner in Mauve.

Hourglass Veil Travel Powder Brush – Snake Review
The last item that is part of the Hourglass holiday 2023 collection is the Veil Travel Powder Brush with the snake packaging. This brush is best used for dusting on loose powder, finishing powders or bronzers since the shape is quite large. It’s super soft and blends the color beautifully. I will say that it is a bit too big to use with the Ambient Lighting Palettes and I had a hard time using it with one color without picking up a second at the same time. I would use this with your Veil Loose Powder or bronzing powders.
