I know fall is still a ways off but I am already planning my outfits. I LOVE fall and dressing for fall is my favorite thing ever. I can layer but without feeling like I’m suffocating. I can make a coat my entire outfit. I don’t have to deal with humidity anymore. It’s basically my perfect season. And I plan on recreating every single one of these looks this fall so I thought I would round up a bunch of my favorite outfits from past years.
Regardless of trends that come and go, most of these outfits are classic looks that I will rewear year after year. There is a good mix of dressier looks, classic looks and casual looks that cover so many different occasions. Some of the items are old but I tried to link similar pieces for each outfit though most of the items are still in stock!

Lady jackets are still trending this year and that makes me so happy. I absolutely LOVE the look and how chic they make an outfit. While lady jackets are similar to a regular cardigan, often the shape is a bit more structured and some have gorgeous button details. If you work in an office or need professional pieces to add to your fall wardrobe, I cannot recommend lady jackets enough. Here is an entire blog post dedicated to various styles at all price points.

If you are sick of wearing denim and want an alternative, invest in a pair of trousers. Trousers are so versatile and I have dressed them up and dressed them down with a cozy sweatshirt and sneakers. Abercrombie makes my favorite pair of mid range priced trousers but if you want to splurge, the ones from Favorite Daughter are stunning!
Duster Cardigan Outfits

This long duster coatigan has been trending for years now and I finally purchased it last year. I now know why it is so popular and is a consistent top seller every year for Mango. It is absolutely amazing! It’s a great medium weight which is perfect for fall and the shape is slouchy and perfect. I am contemplating getting it in another color this fall because it was one of my most worn coats last year!
Classic Button Down Shirt and Jeans
Shirt | Jeans | Belt (similar) | Bag (similar) | Flats | Sunglasses
A button down blouse and dark wash denim will always be a good choice for any season but especially for fall. I love the slightly oversized fit of this one and while it is linen, I will still be wearing it into the colder months. Another brand that I love for button down blouses is Mille (my discount code is MAREE15) because they fit is nice and roomy especially through the bust.
Plaid Blazer and Wide Leg Jeans
Blazer | Tee | Jeans | Belt (similar) | Sandals | Bag (similar) | Sunglasses
Plaid is always a classic print for fall. Try to choose one that has a neutral color palette so it can be worn with almost anything in your closet. I personally love wide leg jeans with a fitted blazer. And since the beginning of fall can be a tad warm during the day, I love wearing a blazer and jeans with sandals.
Long Sleeve Tee and Jeans
Tee (similar) | Jeans | Belt | Flats | Bag (similar) | Sunglasses
Before winter comes, I like wear all my long sleeved tees alone without having to worry about a coat. A simple tee and jeans sounds quite boring but you can always jazz it up with fun accessories.
Trench Coat with Wide Leg Jeans

Trench | Tee | Jeans | Belt | Shoes | Bag | Sunglasses
Spring and fall are the two seasons where I bring out my trench coats. I don’t need anything heavy but a lightweight trench will always be in style. I actually prefer to leave mine open and tie the belt in the back to cinch in the waist. It makes the trench look a bit more flattering without overwhelming my frame.
Short Sleeve Sweater and Jeans
Sweater | Jeans | Belt | Shoes | Bag | Sunglasses
A short sleeved sweater is one of the wardrobe pieces that is made for fall. When it’s not cold enough to need full sleeves but you want something a bit heavier. Honestly I just love the look of them and have worn this particular one a ton last year. I’m excited to bring it back out again!
Turtleneck Sweater and Jeans
Sweater | Jeans | Shoes | Bag | Sunglasses
Sweater | Jeans | Boots | Bag | Sunglasses |
So basic but still a classic. A turtleneck and jeans is probably my most worn type of outfit throughout fall and into winter. It’s easy to style and always has a cozy vibe to it.
Cropped Cardigan and Jeans

The main difference between a lady jacket and a cropped cardigan is the fit. A cropped cardigan often has a less structured fit overall while a lady jacket is a tad more boxy and rigid. If you aren’t sure what color to get, a simple cream cropped cardigan will never go out of style.
Matching Sweater and Knit Skirt
Sweater and Skirt (similar) | Boots
If you struggle with outfits to wear to the office during fall and even into winter, try a matching sweater/skirt knit set. You can break up the pieces and wear them with other things, but a set worn together always looks polished and professional.
Sweatshirt and Joggers

Most days during the fall, I am wearing some form of this outfit multiple times a week. But a sweatshirt and joggers doesn’t have to be frumpy or sloppy. I like to buy slimmer cut joggers and have invested in a few knits from Varley to pair with them. These outfits are insanely comfy but still look super cute.
Hoodie and Leggings

I live in my Spanx faux leather leggings all fall and winter because they give a little something extra to a leggings and sweatshirt outfit. And if you struggle with wearing a hoodie and coats, try a collarless style jacket like the one I am wearing here because your hood can comfortably fit over the top of the jacket!
Sweater Dress
Dress (similar) | Boots (similar) | Bag | Sunglasses
Is it even fall if you haven’t worn a sweater dress yet? Ha! There are a million different sweater dress styles out there but I always gravitate towards a fitted turtleneck style midi dress.
Tweed Jacket and Wide Leg Jeans
Jacket (similar) | Turtleneck (similar) | Jeans | Boots (similar) | Bag | Sunglasses
A tweed jacket or lady jacket would look great with a pair of wide leg jeans for fall. Here I have it styled open with a turtleneck underneath but you could also layer it over a classic camisole if you want something a bit more lightweight.
Turtleneck and Denim Midi Skirt
Turtleneck (similar) | Skirt (similar) | Boots (similar) | Bag (similar) | Sunglasses
I know not everyone loves the denim midi skirt trend but I am still in LOVE with it. I love wearing jeans all fall and winter and a denim skirt is a great alternative but still gives me that same look. Try to find a slim style and if you want to style it with boots for fall, choose a knee high boot style instead of an ankle boot.
Cardigan and a Slip Skirt
Cardigan (similar) | Skirt (similar) | Shoes | Bag (similar) | Sunglasses
Whenever someone asks me for a skirt recommendation, I always suggest a slip skirt style first. It’s perfect for all four seasons, can be dressed up or down and looks so timeless. I like a midi length style the best so I try to find a length that falls between my knee and ankle.
Bodysuit and Jeans
Bodysuit | Jeans (similar) | Shoes | Bag | Sunglasses
As someone with a larger bust, I prefer a wrap style top over most necklines. Surprisingly it is more minimizing and flattering to the bust because it draws the eyes down gives a more lengthening appearance. I have this bodysuit in a few colors and love how comfy it is! It’s a great price point and comes in a beautiful array of colors.
