When I lived in NYC going to brunch was a necessary part of your social life! A sunday brunch outing was a time to catch up with your friends, eat some yummy food and wear a cute outfit (or depending on the night before, cozy sweats and big sunglasses LOL). I still love a good brunch outing and especially in fall it is even better. Brunch can be casual or a tad dressy and a perfect excuse to wear something fun. When deciding what to wear to your favorite brunch spot, make sure your fall outfit is comfy, allows for eating but also can be a reason to put together a cute look. I thought I would share a round-up of brunch outfit ideas that you can wear to your next fall brunch date!

Chunky Sweater and Jeans
You can never go wrong with an oversized chunky sweater, blue jeans and knee high boots for a casual chic fall brunch outfit. For any fall outing to be honest, but I love a look like this for brunch. Having a classic cream turtleneck sweater in your closet is always a great idea because it can be styled a ton of different ways. I know straight leg jeans and wide leg jeans are trending, but I still love the look of skinny jeans tucked into knee high boots.

Cropped Cardigan and Jeans
A similar look to the one prior, but a slightly different silhouette. Cropped cardigans are trending this fall and I absolutely love how they look styled with high waisted jeans. These jeans are a slightly slimmer wide leg fit and are the perfect dark wash. My Amazon mules have been a favorite for many years as they look polished and chic but are sooooo comfortable (and under $70). They look nearly identical to the Manolo Blahnik ones but at a fraction of the price.
Cardigan – Abercrombie (similar) | Jeans – Grlfrnd | Shoes – Madewell | Bag – Gucci | Sunglasses – Amazon
Cozy Cardigan and Statement Flats
This outfit screams comfy and cozy yet the pearl button details on the cardigan and bejewelled studs on the flats make it a bit more dressy. You could also wear this pearl button cardigan over a fall dress. I love a look like this for a slightly fancy brunch place where you want to dress up a bit but still keep things casual and laid-back. It’s the perfect mix! And these black jeans have the perfect straight leg fit that makes your legs look a mile long.
Sweatshirt – Anine Bing | Pants – Abercrombie | Shoes – Converse | Bag – Anine Bing (similar)
Sweatshirt and Trousers
As an alternative to sweats or leggings if you were out late the night before, I love this look because it is insanely comfortable but still looks chic and cool. I swear by these Abercrombie trousers and have them in a few colors. They can easily be worn to work but also look great styled with sneakers and a graphic sweatshirt. My Anine Bing sweatshirts are pricey but I have a few of them and wear them more than any other sweatshirts in my closet. They fit perfectly oversized, are warm but not too warm and make the look more stylish. Throw on a denim jacket for an added layer. I was never a Converse fan years ago but I have come around and now absolutely love my high tops!
Tee – Lovers and Friends | Jeans – Grlfrnd | Sweater – Mango | Shoes – Dolce Vita | Bag – Melie Bianco | Sunglasses – Amazon
White Tee, Cropped Wide Leg Jeans and Mesh Ballet Flats
There are so many ways you can style a simple white tee and jeans. You can switch up your accessories, add some cute ballet flats or drape a sweater over your shoulders for added texture and print. I’ve worn some variation of this look so many times and it never fails to look chic.
Dressy Fall Brunch Outfits
Vest – L’Academie (similar) | Turtleneck – Mango | Midi Skirt – Abercrombie (similar) | Boots – Marc Fisher (similar) | Bag – Gucci (similar) | Sunglasses – Amazon
Slip Skirt and Shearling Vest
If you want to dress things up a bit for your fall brunch or even a business brunch but not go over the top, a slip skirt is a MUST HAVE! It’s super versatile and can be styled a ton of ways but I love this particular look for when it’s a bit chilly. A faux shearling oversized vest is a great option when you don’t want to wear a coat and add knee high boots to keep your legs a bit warmer. The perfect classy fall outfit.

Denim Midi Skirt and Sweater
If you live somewhere a bit warmer and can skip a coat for brunch and just wear long sleeves, this is the perfect outfit. Denim midi and maxi skirts are huge this fall and I love how they look worn with boots (ankle boots or knee high boots) and a turtleneck sweater. The skirt makes the look a bit dressier but it’s still denim and casual. Throw on a trench coat or leather jacket for an added layer.

Midi Dress
Having a printed midi dress or floral dress in your closet will always come in handy when you need something polished and elevated to wear. From a casual wedding to a weekend brunch, a graduation ceremony or a baby shower, a midi dress is a great piece to invest in. Style it with some sandals if the weather is still warm or add some boots if it is too cold for open toe shoes. I love the mixing of prints on this dress in particular. The overall tone of the dress is neutral but the mixing of prints adds some additional unique details.

Business Casual Brunch Outfits
Blazer – Majorelle | Tee – Lovers and Friends | Jeans – Grlfrnd | Sandals – Tony Bianco | Bag – Melie Bianco (similar) | Sunglasses – Amazon
Oversized Blazer and Wide Leg Jeans
If the brunch or lunch outing calls for a more polished and semi-professional vibe, my first outfit choice will always be a blazer and jeans. It’s a timeless look that can work for so many different business casual occasions. This plaid blazer is great for year round but especially perfect to wear into fall and winter.
Lady Jacket – Abercrombie | Jeans – Grlfrnd | Bag – Melie Bianco | Shoes – Amazon | Sunglasses – Amazon
Lady Jacket and Straight Leg Jeans
As an alternative to a traditional blazer, you can go with a lady jacket. A bit more structured than a cardigan but still looks elevated and professional. If you don’t want to wear jeans, you could always style this with a pair of wide leg trousers or a slip skirt and flats.

Chic Coatigan
I wish I had bought this Mango coatigan years ago because it truly is as comfy as everyone says! It feels like you are wearing a long cozy (chic and stylish) blanket. LOL I have styled a bunch of different ways but I especially love it worn with a monochromatic look underneath. This is one of those looks that will always look polished but is so easy to put together.

Bodysuit and Jeans
I’ve had this bodysuit for a few years and still love how it fits. The wrap style is super flattering and would work for a brunch look or even dressed up for a night out. I use a bit of fashion tape to keep the wrap closed just in case but the wrap is quite tight so it never causes a wardrobe malfunction.

Black and White with Brown
If you are running errands or have things to do before or after brunch, I love a look like this especially with the large tote bag. This tote bag can hold a TON and is SUPER durable. Black and white is always a color combination I gravitate towards when I don’t know what to wear but I love the touches of brown mixed with it. I have a few Lele Sadoughi headbands and love them because when I don’t feel like doing my hair, I can throw on one of her headbands and my hair instantly looks pulled together. And especially for brunch when you don’t feel like doing your hair and makeup, these headbands will come in handy every time.
Sweater – L’Academie (similar) | Pants – Anthropologie | Shoes – Amazon
Holiday Brunch Outfit
If your brunch falls around the holidays, this is the type of look I love when I want to make my outfit a bit more festive. These shoes from Amazon were an impulse buy but I end up wearing them the most during November and December! You could always style this look with flats or boots, but I love the idea of a bejewelled shoe for a special brunch.
