Moisturizing the skin is one of the most important parts of my skincare routine. Many people focus on all the targeted ingredients designed to help treat various concerns, but forget about protecting and strengthening the skin barrier by under a proper moisturizer. I would argue that having a good and nourishing moisturizer is more important than an entire lineup of serums or treatments. If the skin barrier becomes damaged, products will no longer provide the results because the skin isn’t in a healthy place to function normally. The proper moisturizer depends on many different factors such as your skin type, texture preference, time of year, etc. So it’s important to find one that works for you and then use it daily as your last step.
I have many different moisturizers that I love, but find myself going back to the Dieux Instant Angel Moisturizer constantly. I have been following the founder of Dieux on Instagram years before she ever created the brand. And I loved her approach to beauty, the beauty industry and the education she provides. When she launched her brand Dieux, I was really interested to try everything (the Dieux forever eye masks are already a favorite of mine) but the Instant Angel Moisturizer seemed like a product that I would LOVE. I’ve been testing it out for months and can confirm it is everything I had hoped and more. LOL I’m going to give a more in-depth review on the product, its benefits and whether I think you should try it as well!
What is Dieux Angel Moisturizer?
The Dieux Instant Angel Moisturizer is a skin-restoring moisturizer designed to deeply nourish, provide barrier support and give an “ethereal glow” to the skin. It’s a richer cream that delivers all the benefits of a thick formula. And without feeling heavy or leaving an uncomfortable feel to the skin. I think of it as one of those moisturizers that truly moisturizes the skin. It doesn’t focus on anti-aging concerns or other targeted treatments. It is truly the ultimate final step in taking care of your skin. What really sets Dieux apart from other brands is how intentional they are with their product launches, serving the purpose of treating the basic needs of the skin so you can enjoy the benefits of other more intensive products. I have absolutely fallen in love with this moisturizer and plan to repurchase it as soon as I finish the tube.

A blend of Glycerin, Sodium PCA, Urea, Trehalose, Hexylene Glycol, Polyquaternium-51, Triacetin, Caprylyl Glycol and Sodium Hyaluronate, this blend at 3% was shown to provide immediate and long lasting moisture in the skin. - 5% Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline:
An amino acid that functions similarly to a signal peptide, this ingredient has been shown to help with the appearance of wrinkle depth. - 2% Barrier Repair Complex:
A blend of Hexapeptide-12, Ceramide NG and other emollients, this complex has been shown to help repair age-related skin damage. - 4% Phytosterol and Free Fatty Acid complex:
A plant-derived lipid complex (phospholipids, triglycerides, linoleic acid and phytosterols) that helps with reinforcing the skin’s natural lipid layer to help replenish weakened and sensitive skin. - % Meadowestolide:
A bioactive analogue of ceramides, this lipid helps reduce trans epidermal water loss repairing dry, dehydrated skin.

This is a moisturizer that supports and strengthens the skin barrier.
Retaining Moisture in the Skin
There is a moisture complex present in the formula that gives the skin immediate hydration. And allows it to lock in moisture and hold onto it longer.
Strengthen Weakened Skin
The fatty acid complex in the formula is an ingredient that helps with barrier repair if it is compromised, weakened or damaged.
Reduces Appearance of Wrinkle Depth
While this is not a huge focus for the product, one of the ingredients (5% Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline) was shown to provide a slight reduction in wrinkle depth and fine lines so that is a win/win for all! LOL
Pros of Dieux Instant Angel Moisturizer
Well-rounded nourishing moisturizer
What I love about this moisturizer is how it’s basic but in the most impactful way possible. It’s not designed to do anything else besides deeply nourish the skin and it does that perfectly. Also the aluminum tube that it is packaged in allows you to squeeze out every last bit.
Great for sensitive skin
If your skin is reactive or sensitive, this is a great moisturizer to try!
Various sizes that are priced well
This isn’t exactly drugstore pricing, but the 50ml is $45 which I feel is so well priced for how long I can use it. You only need a small amount so it will last 6+ months for me. There is also a smaller size available if you don’t want to commit to a full size yet. And then if you are truly obsessed, there is a 100ml version for $78. Which is double the size of the regular, but at a value price!
Cons of Dieux Instant Angel Moisturizer
May not be suitable for oily or acne prone skin
While it was tested for all skin types, there is the chance that because it is a richer formula that it may be too heavy for those with oily or acne prone skin. I have seen reviews on this from people with all skin types. So there is a great chance it would be perfect for anyone but it’s best to always patch test. And if you feel it is too rich, there is an Instant Air Angel Gel Cream that is much lighter in texture!
Dieux Instant Angel Moisturizer Review
I prefer to use the Dieux Instant Angel at night as my final step in my skincare routine. And love the way it makes my skin feel and look. I use a dime-sized amount. But if my skin is really dry and dehydrated I will use a quarter size dollop of product. This has also become one of my go-to products when my skin is irritated or feeling sensitive. When I use a product that irritates my skin or I’m dealing with any type of skin issue, I will completely pare down my skincare routine to cleansing and moisturizing.
This moisturizer is the perfect product to help get my dry skin back to baseline. And also through whatever issue I am dealing with. Even though it is a thicker formula, I would still recommend this to almost any skin type and any age. It’s one of those moisturizers that will work for nearly everyone!
Dieux Instant Angel Moisturizer Before and After
Hydrating and glowy
This moisturizer is formulated to intensely hydrate and moisturize the skin immediately and long term. Also the glow that it gives from the rich lipids is exactly why my dry mature skin needs right now!
Plumping
Though this is not one of the benefits stated by the brand, I notice that this formula really plumps my skin. It’s definitely from the ingredients that are designed to help hydrate and retain moisture. When my skin is dehydrated, it looks lackluster and less supple.
Soothing
I have less irritation and flakiness after using strong retinols or exfoliating products when I use this moisturizer at the end of my routine. It really helps to nourish my skin and immediately strengthen my skin barrier.
