I’m a huge skincare lover and have been for many years. That being said, it can be hard to find the best products and especially to find the best eye creams. I only have a handful of eye creams that I’ve ever really enjoyed because so many seem to deliver similar results. Using an eye cream is necessary because the skin around the eye is more delicate. And needs a different formulation than the products used for the face. And since the under eye area can often have a various number of issues that aren’t necessarily affecting the rest of the face, it’s important to choose a product designed to protect the skin in this particular area.
One of the skincare brands that I always go back to is Colleen Rothschild Beauty. I’ve been using her products for nearly a decade and find her formulations to be consistent, effective and priced at a reasonable price point. I’ve tried almost every product from her line including the eye creams and really enjoy how well they perform. There are a few different formulas to choose from depending on what your concerns are so I thought I would share the ones that I have tried and my thoughts on each one.
Colleen Rothschild Eye Cream
When it comes to my eye area, my biggest concerns are firming and hydrating. Occasionally depending on how I’ve slept the night before, I will want something to minimize dark circles and depuff as well. There are eye creams that target a few concerns or some that check almost every box. Colleen Rothschild offers three eye cream formulations that address every single one of these issues and more. I’ll share a quick review on each formula and how I use it in my routine so it will hopefully give you a better idea of which one may suit your needs the best.
What Is a Good Eye Cream?
This will look different for everyone. So it’s important to choose a formula that really targets your specific concerns and fits your lifestyle. Some eye creams or eye serums work well layered while others are effective enough worn alone. It’s also best to understand that an eye cream can only solve a limited amount of skin concerns. Things like lifestyle, genetics, health, diet, etc can all affect how your under eye area will look. And even with the best most effective eye creams on the market, you may still have issues that can’t be treated. It’s good to have expectations for your eye cream but make sure those expectations are reasonable and achievable. However using an eye cream consistently in your skincare routine is a good idea to ensure you are taking care of the delicate skin around the eye.

Colleen Rothschild Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream
This is the newest eye cream that was added to the Colleen Rothschild skincare range and almost immediately went viral on social media. It has sold out so many times and for good reason. It’s a mix of skincare and makeup in one. The Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream is a formula designed to nourish, brighten and correct. It has a slight peach tint which helps to brighten and counteract any dark circles.
Ingredients
This is a lightweight eye cream with peach-colored illuminating pigments designed to revitalize tired eyes. It helps to treat under-eye darkness, fine lines, dryness and puffiness. It contains active ingredients hyaluronic acid to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as caffeine to reduce puffiness. The peachy tint helps to neutralize blue undertones making the area appear more even toned.
Price Point
The Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream is priced at $48 for .5 oz. Though it sounds a bit pricey, I only use half a pump each morning to cover both eyes so one bottle lasts me at least 6 months.
Benefits
Since there is a tint to this eye cream, it is best used during the day either worn alone or under makeup. For me this works wonders as immediately brightening up my under eye area without adding too much coverage. My skin feels hydrated enough to wear alone. So this is the only eye cream I need during the day. The peachy tint is quite universal so it would work on a wide range of skin tones.
Retinol Supreme Eye Serum
If you want something lightweight and intensely hydrating, the Colleen Rothschild Retinol Supreme Eye Serum is fantastic. It’s a serum designed to intensely treat the skin under and around the eyes with its blend of retinol and vitamin c. Often retinol products are too strong to be used around the eyes,. So it’s best to use one designed with this delicate skin in mind.
Packaging
The Retinol Supreme Eye Serum comes in a tube with a metal applicator that feels insanely cooling and refreshing on the dry skin around my eyes. Squeeze out just a tiny amount and then apply the product directly onto the skin using the applicator and massage around.
Ingredients
Retinol and vitamin c are two of my favorite skincare ingredients. But it is rare to find them formulated in the same product. It has to be done correctly to avoid irritation. The Retinol Supreme Eye Serum uses key retinol to boost the skin’s natural repair process, vitamin c to provide antioxidant support and saliporine 8 to improve skin moisture and elasticity.
Price Point
The Retinol Supreme Eye Serum is priced at $75 for .5 oz. For me this is best used in the evening and I only use the smallest amount. Just like the Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream, this tube lasted me about 6 months.
Colleen Rothschild Complete Eye Cream
The name of this eye cream really encompasses its purpose. It is truly a complete anti aging eye cream that treats a wide range of concerns. Designed to address fine lines, under-eye circles, puffiness, loss of elasticity and dryness, the Complete Eye Cream is a great option if you simply want a one and done product.
Ingredients
In addition to hyaluronic acid to help plump the skin, there is a handful of proprietary ingredients that target a variety of anti-aging concerns. The key ingredient dermaxyl helps to smooth fine lines, AesthiNet provides intense hydration and REGU-AGE PF combats dark circles.
Price Point
Another product that lasts me at least six months if not longer. The price point for the Complete Eye Cream is $65 for .5 oz.
Packaging
Packaged in a traditional eye cream pot, I recommend using your ring finger to pick up a tiny rice sized amount. And then gently tap it along the orbital bone and eye area.
