Bright Colors in the French Quarter

We are currently in Savannah, but I wanted to share some pictures of our time last week in the French Quarter. I had picked this dress specifically to wear when we visited here because I knew it would look perfect with the colorful surroundings. Thennnnnn the heat and humidity decided to visit that morning and holy cow was I hot in this. I pushed up the sleeves and it is quite a flowy dress, but the fabric is heavier and was not suitable to walk around in almost 90 degree weather. Whoops. But I managed to stay in the shade when I could and keep water with me, so it was bearable. And I absolutely love this dress and feel it has such a fun look to it, but I will make sure to wear it on a cooler day next time.  

Now on to the French Quarter and its fabulousness. I will be doing a full recap later this week of our time in New Orleans, but for now I can talk about how much I loved this charming area.There is the French Quarter near Bourbon Street/Canal Street (yuck) or the one a bit farther down near Frenchmen Street. THAT is the area I recommend visiting because it’s exactly the colorful and charming area you imagine. The homes are all vibrant and there is an abundance of beautiful balconies with gorgeous iron work that takes your breath away. And as for me wearing hats non-stop during this trip – it is the only way to deal with the sun. I have been wearing SPF 50 (currently loving this one) while down here, but I need that added protection of a hat – and it also keeps me much cooler while walking around. Even though the dress was a bit hot, I adore the embroidered details. Unfortunately it has already sold out but I linked a ton of other great options at all price points in the widget below.
