Now that the weather is finally getting warmer, summer concerts are in full swing! Summer is a great time to enjoy live music outside and experiment with looks and step out of your comfort zone a bit. It can be difficult to decide on a summer concert outfit so I rounded up a bunch of looks for style inspiration that would fit a ton of different music genres and venues while all still being quite comfortable. There is a good mix of splurge and budget items but all would pair easily back to anything you already have in your closet. You can also pin these looks to use as inspiration and recreate with what you already have in your closet.
What To Wear To a Summer Concert

Bermuda Shorts with Cowboy Boots
I’m not a huge country music fan but I can’t help but want to wear cowboy boots to a summer concert, anyone else? Cowboy boots look great with dresses, skirts and even with a longer bermuda style short. Even though bermuda shorts have been around for years, it can be a challenge figuring out exactly how to style them in a modern and fashion-forward way. I typically look for a tailored bermuda shorts style but you could also apply the same principle to a longer pair of denim shorts that hits a bit higher above the knee. Longer shorts are trending right now and I love how they look worn with knee high cowboy boots. Denim on denim is a combination that never goes out of style but if you don’t want to wear blue on blue denim, you wear a blue denim vest with these white denim shorts.
Comfortable shoes are a necessity for a concert and if you are going to an outdoor show then sunglasses and a big hat (or even a cowboy hat to match the boots) are a must have as well. I have a friend who loves wearing cowboy boots and she recommended this exact pair to me because of how comfortable they are! This brand makes so many cute styles in tons of prints – you could also go with a mid calf cowboy boot for this look or a standard knee high boot. Either would look great. Since they are on the pricier side, my suggestion would be to go with a neutral color that you can rewear year after year. The outfit is very simple, so accessorize with chunky bangles. Since they will probably make a ton of noise, a loud concert is the best place to wear them. LOL
Don’t forget the bag!
I always feel like the bag situation for a concert is the least exciting part of the outfit so the details have to make up for it. LOL Keep things simple in your bag and only bring the essentials but don’t forget things like band-aids, hand sanitizer and maybe some hydration packets to add to your water. A makeup setting spray with SPF is a great multi-use product to use but also bring a powder SPF to dust on for touch ups at the concert. And since your arms and shoulders will be out, spritz a shimmering body SPF to both protect the skin but still give it a glow.

Cute Top and Wide Leg Jeans
This is an elevated twist on a tank top and jeans. This delicate strappy tank is perfect for an outdoor concert but you can balance out the amount of skin you are showing by styling it with a pair of wide leg high waisted jeans. I love how wide leg jeans can look great styled for a concert or dressed up with a blazer for a night out. They are one of my favorite styles of denim and I recommend them to everyone! And then because a comfortable shoe is a must, these strappy sandals are the perfect shoe to stand and walk around in. I have these mixed metal earrings and they are by far my most worn and favorite pair of earrings (use code: MAREE15 to save). These are the brand’s most popular earring style and for good reason.
I absolutely love the look of the knot earrings especially in the mixed metal version. There are three different sizes to choose from and the ones I wear the most are the middle size. There is one size bigger and one size smaller. The mini knot earrings are super lightweight and easy to wear and go with absolutely everything! They are the earring that I get asked the most about and are a top seller for my audience too. Dress them up or wear them with a casual look – they are truly the perfect pair of earrings.

Denim Shorts and a Graphic Tee
Denim shorts are still one of the best options for wearing to a concert. Comfortable yet can be styled a ton of different ways. A graphic tee (or even a cute band tee) is often the first choice for many when wearing denim shorts. Something cute and comfortable and a bit different from a simple white tee. I love the braided detail on the pockets of the denim shorts which elevates them a bit while still being super casual. If you don’t want to accessorize with a belt or jewelry, opt for a striped pair of espadrilles (use code: MAREE20 to save) to add some pattern and texture to your look. The ultimate summer shoe will forever be the espadrille.
I also did a prior blog post all about my favorite bras if you need some suggestions of ones that would work with tank tops or dresses. In fact, I searched for years for the best strapless bra and finally feel like I found one. And many of my readers have confirmed that they have tried it and I’ve gotten great feedback from everyone.

Romper and Sandals
Listen, I know rompers are VERY polarizing and you either love them or hate them. I am personally a HUGE fan of rompers and find them to be sooooo comfortable and easy to wear during the summer. This floral jumper is lightweight and perfect to wear to a summer concert. Add a cute beaded chunky bracelet to accessorize and then some neutral sandals. I often look for sandals with some added embellishments because I don’t always want to wear heels for a summer night out but my beach flip flops are too casual. Something like these neutral thong slides with the gold detailing are casual enough for shorts but would also look great worn with a summer midi dress. I have so many pairs of Larroude shoes and find them to be some of the most comfortable styles.
