4th of July Pool Outfit Ideas

4th of July is right around the corner and so many people will be spending their holiday at the pool or the beach. I always have a ton of outfit ideas ready because so much of my closet contains white, blue and red because I wear it year round. Especially in the summer, I love the look of white and blue together and adding in some red accessories is always fun. The great thing about buying things to wear for the 4th of July is that they will still be suitable to wear the rest of the summer. I prefer to buy things that can last me longer than one holiday or one occasion and I can rewear over and over. Here are some outfit ideas for the pool or the beach that would be perfect for the 4th of July as well as the remainder of the summer season.

Ruched one piece swimsuit

J.Crew swimsuits have always been a favorite of mine – especially their one piece styles. The wide straps and ruched sides on this look so flattering.

Red smocked one piece swimsuit

This red is absolutely beautiful and so fun for the summer.

Striped one shoulder swimsuit

This suit is very similar to the one I am wearing in the pictures. I’ve had my one shoulder striped swimsuit from J.Crew for nearly 7 years and still wear it every summer.

Blue and white striped bag

This bag is HUGE and can hold all of the things you need at the beach.

Straw tote bag

A great beach bag but also a bag you can carry around day to day with your regular outfits.

Brown neutral flip flops

I have these in a lighter brown and love wearing them to the beach/pool but also with maxi dresses and skirts during the summer.

Cream slides

These cream slides look so comfortable and once again can be worn in your day to day life as well as the beach/pool. I am all about the versatility of my accessories!

Red macrame coverup

This coverup over the red bathing suit would be absolutely stunning! Or wear it over a white swimsuit to create those festive 4th of July outfit vibes.

Red button down coverup

Definitely a great choice for the 4th but I would still wear this all summer long. With a white swimsuit and neutral sandals, it is a classic and elevated beach look. I also like the idea of a long sleeve coverup option because if I have had enough time in the sun and need a break, I want something I can throw on as an added layer of protection from the sun. I want to enjoy the sun but still take care of my skin and keep my skin healthy (in addition to all the SPF I would be wearing too!)

White cinched coverup

It’s worth getting a simple white dress style coverup to wear year after year. You can style it with any bathing suit and sandals and will always be in style.
