On Monday Stan and I ventured up to Colonial Williamsburg to do some sightseeing and have dinner later that evening at one of our favorite restaurants. It was a gorgeous day, so I was able to go with bare legs (victory!) and decided on this comfortable sweater dress and sneakers. Naturally I was drawn to this dress because of the stripes – I swear most of my closet is stripes, leopard print and denim. Rather than go with sandals or boots, which would be my normal choice for a dress, I grabbed my sneakers last minute and felt it gave the look a relaxed feeling without being sloppy. My GAP denim jacket was an obvious outerwear choice and one that I wear 3 seasons out of the year. I particularly like wearing it because when I get too hot, I can tie it around my waist and still leave my hands and arms free. You might have seen this photo on Instagram where I was making friends with the locals – he was so cute to come to the fence when I walked up. Since I have been visiting Williamsburg my whole life (I grew up 45 minutes away), we didn’t do a standard tour and chose to wander around ourselves. I highly recommend going in early spring or early fall because the landscape and the nearby College of William & Mary are absolutely stunning to experience. It finally made me feel like spring had arrived!
