A few weeks ago Stan and I ventured down to D.C. to see the cherry blossoms that are so famously known this time of year. There are even cherry blossom predictors all over the web that help determine the perfect day to visit based on current weather patterns. Wow! Sadly we missed the very peak of them, but to be honest they were still stunning to see. I was a tad worried about where we would have to park and how far the walk would be because driving around the Tidal Basin was crazy. There were tons of tour buses and tourists so I was expecting the worst. We followed the signs that said “parking” for quite awhile and came upon a street that had tons of parking lots located just a short walk away from the sights. It was perfect! We did go on a Monday which made it more manageable, and only had to wait a short time for a space to open up.
After we walked around for a bit, we headed to lunch at one of our favorite salad spots and then to Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken to take some doughnuts home with us. I had heard great things so I was excited to finally try them! My favorites were the Creme Brulee flavored ones, but sadly I was slightly underwhelmed by the rest. Womp, womp.
The weather was still being finicky around this time, but we lucked out with a slightly overcast yet warm day. I pulled out this blazer I recently picked up from H&M and threw on a cute cami underneath, not even realizing I was matching the cherry blossoms. Ha! I always look for nice white blazers each spring, but never want to spend a ton of money on one because I always end up getting it dirty. This blazer was exactly what I was looking for in shape and style and price at under $50! I knew we would be walking a ton so I wanted shoes that would be comfortable and while I rarely reach for a heel to do the job, these wedges have become one of my favorite ones to wear because of how easy and light they are on my feet. There is a slight cushion so the balls of my feet don’t hurt after a few hours. I would highly recommend them for a comfy spring wedge!
