Summer is here and it’s often a season of dressing casually to combat the heat and humidity. But as someone who has loved fashion for decades and always want to feel and look put together, I challenge myself constantly to put together easy casual summer looks that are comfortable and chic. And these are looks that I repeat each year because they are classic and timeless. From amusement parks, to neighborhood parks or weekend wanderings, it’s still worth wearing something you love and feel great in. This may look like a cute mini skirt for summer, but there are actually biker shorts attached! I have a few pieces from the Spanx Air Essentials line and they are some of the most comfortable items in my entire wardrobe. This cropped tee is boxy and super comfy and matches perfectly with the skort.

I don’t always want to wear shorts or a skirt during the summer, so these flowy lightweight pants are my go-to. I bought a pair last year from H&M for $20 and I am so happy to see that they brought them back for this year. I ordered two colors and find myself reaching for them when I’m working from home, running errands or want a comfortable pant to go out in.
Wide Leg Jeans and a Crochet Sweater

A crochet style knit sweater is a must have for me in the summer. It’s a good compromise to have when going in and out of the air conditioning all day. And I have fully moved over to the wide leg denim trend and if I’m going to wear jeans in the summer – they must be loose!

I actually think of my striped sweaters as my “summer night” sweaters. It can get chilly during the summer evenings and I have always gravitated towards a striped sweater and denim as an easy look to put together. During the day you can drape it over your shoulders which creates a whole other aesthetic that I adore, but I do find myself putting it on if the air conditioning is freezing or it dips down in temperature at night.

Anything loose and flowy is what I want to wear in the heat. And if that includes a full matching set – even better. I don’t have to think about what outfit I am putting together, it already matches and looks polished. This striped top is a bit heavy if you plan to be out in the hot sun all day, but switch it out for a striped tee instead if needed. I will forever love the look of a striped top and white jeans. An outfit like this is also a great look to wear when traveling. It’s easy to accessorize, always looks chic and can be dressed up or down.

The same idea as the striped top and white jeans – just switch out the jeans for white shorts. There is something so crisp about a striped button down blouse and white shorts. It’s chic and elevated but still insanely comfortable.

This is an old tank dress from Target but they always have a million great tank t-shirt dresses every year. They are super comfortable and I always style them the same way – with a jacket tied around my waist and either sneakers or flat sandals.

When I know I’m going to be outside in the heat and humidity, I always reach for these comfy running shorts. I do not run but these are still my favorite style to wear. There is underwear attached which always makes me feel a bit better since they are so short. But they are THE best thing to wear in the intense heat. This is what I would wear to an amusement park, neighborhood park, splash pad, etc.
