I know, I know – another almost all black outfit. I promise I’ll start wearing some form of color soon! It’s just the easiest thing to go to when it’s colder than cold outside. This cape was a purchase I made years ago and I was hesitant if I would get enough use out of it. Fast forward 5 years, and it’s one of the most worn pieces in my closet. It goes with anything and is so easy and comfortable to wear. I typically have to layer up underneath and wear one or even two sweaters, but it’s the perfect final touch to an outfit. Usually I like to wear it with fitted pants or leggings, but recently I’ve been wearing it with my a-line skirts and love the look. And before I forget to talk about them, I have to highlight my tights. I know it’s such an insignificant piece of the outfit (however not insignificant when it’s cold – amiright?!), but I have been wearing this same brand of tights now for almost 5 years. My mom found them for me in Kohl’s one day and I’ve been hooked ever since. They are by Vera Wang’s less expensive line called Simply Vera, and are truly my holy grail of tights. They’re ridiculously affordable, NEVER snag, never run, are super opaque and comfortable to wear. They come in multiple different colors and are a staple for me each winter. I buy them in bulk when I run out, but I have to be honest, they last me a few winters so I rarely run out. I have begun buying the more sheer versions, but these opaque ones will forever be my favorite. If I have to subject my legs to tights 6 months out of the year, then I might as well love them, right?
