So much NARS newness these past 2 weeks to share with you! First a sneak peek at the new NARS Highlighting Powders available later this month, and now new cheek palettes and lip kits. If you have never tried any NARS blushes, I have to tell you that you are missing out. Many of their products are hit or miss with me, but the blushes are a major hit. And the cheek palettes that they come out with a few times a year are not to be overlooked. Sometimes the palettes are suitable only for paler skin tones which is very disappointing, but this launch has something for everyone. Yay! The Wanted I palette (the palette to the right in the above photo) is for the paler to medium toned faces, while Wanted II (the palette to the left in the above photo) is for medium to dark toned skin. Between the texture, easy to blend formulas, rich pigmentation that can be applied as a sheer wash or built up to a bold pop of color, these palettes are perfection. Great for travel or just keeping in your everyday makeup drawers to change up your cheek choice daily.
While the cheek palettes are a major win in my book, the lip kits are cute and the colors are great but I don’t love the formula. The paler shades are easier to apply, but I find the darker/bolder ones can be a bit tricky without a lip liner. They dry down to a natural/natural matte finish and last very long, especially the reds. I like the color offerings in both kits and think they are very wearable which is a major plus.
Overall, I think this entire launch is a win. The cheek palettes are stunning with shades that could work with any and every makeup look you could think of doing. The lip kits aren’t as much of a hit for me personally, but the colors are gorgeous and I think many people would love using them. The palettes and kits are set to launch on March 8th on the NARS website and March 18th in stores.
