It’s still a bit cold here but I’m already focused on putting together tons of outfits for spring. I love to start planning my seasonal wardrobe a month or so in advance and decide what I want to add to it and how I can create as many looks as possible. Updating your spring wardrobe is a great way to welcome the warmer weather. Be sure to consider any special events coming up during that season to see if you can rewear any of your current pieces or if you should begin looking for something now. Having a classic flattering wrap dress or simple sheath dress is always a good choice. Shopping early and before a season actually begins ensures you can find what you need before things begin to sell out. Decide if you have good outerwear as well because spring weather can be so unpredictable. Layering is key so lightweight jackets and cardigans are always a good to have for spring. Here is a round-up of some casual spring outfits to give you styling ideas of what to wear throughout the spring season.
11 Casual Spring Outfit Ideas
Lace Blouse and Jeans

As the weather warms up, I love being able to pull out my lace blouses without needing to cover up with a coat or cardigan. Opt for a long sleeve version to account for any temperature fluctuations and pair it with a simple pair of skinny jeans and flats. A great look for a weekend brunch, casual night out with friends or a business casual workplace.
Cropped Tee and Wide Leg Jeans

Spring isn’t yet the time for wearing sleeveless or even short sleeves all the time so grab a few long sleeve tees to wear with your jeans. Wide leg jeans are still trending so they would be a great option to style with it.
Striped Cardigan and Sandals

I will forever be someone that loves a sweater moment with sandals. Spring may still require a light sweater but most of the time is warm enough to get away with some cute sandals. There are so many cute spring outfits that would look great with sandals.
Slip Skirt and a Tee

Spring is always cool in the morning and sometimes by midday is scorching so layers are key. Wear your cardigan in the morning but then drape it over your shoulders by the afternoon. A slip skirt is a year round essential but if it has been way to cold to wear it during the winter, spring is the perfect time to pull them back out. I also love pleated midi skirts as another option if a slip skirt is not your preference.
Crochet Sweater and Linen Pants
Sweater (similar) | Pants | Shoes | Belt | Bag | Sunglasses
I love fall and spring for wearing all those clothing items that don’t quite make sense. Crochet sweaters are one of those items. A sweater with tons of holes in it? Definitely spring approved! And nothing looks more crisp than linen pants which will also be a summer staple for your wardrobe.
Floral Blouse and Jeans

Florals for spring is nothing new and always a safe bet (either floral blouses or floral dresses). I love a peasant style blouse for the billowy and delicate style. And then when the summer comes, you can style this type of blouse with denim shorts and sandals. Because the blouse is so flowy, I like it worn with a slimmer style of denim to balance out the proportions. Also, if you have not yet purchase a nude mule or flat for your spring wardrobe, I highly recommend. Not only are they incredibly lengthening and flattering on the legs, but they will go with almost any outfit you can put together.
Cardigan with Jeans
Cardigan | Jeans | Shoes | Bag | Sunglasses
I love the lady jacket/cardigan style that is everywhere right now (and has been for the past year). It’s a slightly boxier fit so I love wearing it buttoned up as a sweater or open with a camisole underneath as a true cardigan. If you are in need a good classic pair of straight leg jeans, this pair is absolutely stunning! No distressing, classic color, high waisted fit and an overall classic shape.
White Blazer and Wide Leg Jeans
Blazer | Shirt | Jeans | Shoes | Bag | Sunglasses
Nothing looks crisper or more spring chic than a fresh white blazer! You can style it so many ways but I personally love to keep it simple with a fitted white tee and denim. If you want to branch out a bit and keep things on trend for spring, opt for a wide leg denim style. I love the light wash of these because they pair so well with the white and will look great all throughout summer and into fall.
Short Sleeve Sweater
Sweater | Jeans | Belt | Shoes | Bag | Sunglasses
Once again, that odd item of clothing that seems not to make any sense – a short sleeve sweater. And there is no better time to wear it than spring!! It’s still heavy enough in case it’s a bit chilly in the morning but the short sleeves allow for some ventilation. Ha! I would also love this look worn into fall because of the neutral accessories. Another great item to pair with this short sleeve sweater would be some linen pants! The combination of different textures would be perfection.
Striped Top and White Jeans
Sweater | Jeans | Shoes | Bag | Sunglasses
This is probably one of my most favorite looks I’ve put together in a long time. It’s timeless, ageless and so chic. If you plan to be doing any traveling this spring, a look like this is exactly what you need. You can dress up a simple striped sweater and white jeans with heels and a clutch for dinner out or wear this sightseeing with flats and a crossbody bag. Adding a denim jacket or blazer is another great styling option if you need an outerwear piece if it gets chilly.
Denim Jacket and Linen Pants
Denim Jacket (similar) | Tank | Pants | Shoes | Belt | Bag
Another outfit idea with the same linen pants that I showed styled a few pictures back, but this time worn with a cute denim jacket. Investing in basics is key for ensuring you can easily create multiple looks each season. I love this $8 white tank as well and wear it over and over all spring and summer. While you definitely can have some fun with your accessories, keeping everything neutral is always an option too and can look just as chic. And when you pair darker neutral accessories with a lighter color outfit, it really creates a beautiful contrast and a very interesting outfit.
