I am never without a few different cleansers rotating in my skincare routine. I’m constantly trying out new ones and love how easy it is to just interchange them right into a routine without much disruption. Two of the cleansers I am reviewing today are from brands that are new to me which is always exciting. I find that cleansers are one of the best way to introduce yourself to a brand. The third one is from a tried and true brand that I love for both skincare and beauty. Here are my thoughts on each:
1. By Terry Cellularose Nutri-Pure – I don’t think there has ever been a By Terry product that I haven’t completely loved – either skincare or makeup. I just finished this toner which I loved and this moisturizer from By Terry was an absolute hydrating miracle for me. I was excited to try the Cellularose Nutri-Pure Cleanser which has a rich and creamy texture that feels amazing when used either morning or evening. It does a flawless job at removing makeup as a first cleanse as well as nourishing my skin in the morning when I first get up. What has drawn me to the Cellularose line over and over is the incredible hydrating and moisturizing properties of every product in the range – and this cleanser is no exception. It was the one cleanser I used over and over again after I got back from Costa Rica because it helped delicately cleanse my skin while calming it and helping infuse it with moisture. Though ideally dry skins would really benefit from this cleanser, as someone who has oily skin, I found it just as beneficial in helping balance my skin.
2. Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel – To say I was excited to try this cleanser, I mean THIS BRAND is an understatement. I hear that this cleanser is a holy grail for so many, and that the entire brand is a cult classic. Upon first use, I was amazed at how smooth and silky the texture was both in it’s gel form and then when it emulsifies with water. It works beautifully as a first cleanse to remove makeup and really leaves my skin bright and luminous. With ingredients such as Pumpkin Enzyme, Vitamin A Palmitate, Vitamins C and E – this cleanser packs a serious punch. I found after just the first night my skin looked smoother and more radiant, but when consistently using it night after night my skin looked better and better. More even toned, firmer, clearer – it really lived up to the hype and more. I have a few samples from the rest of the line and if this cleanser is any indication of how the line performs, my skin is in for a treat.
3. Restorsea Reviving Cleanser – Another “new to me” brand – Restorsea has been on my radar for quite some time. The premise behind the brand is that it uses an active ingredient (derived from an enzyme that baby salmon produce at birth – read more here) that provides the same benefits of glycolic acid without the harsh side effects. The texture was different from many other cleansers currently in my routine and had a very thin, watery feel. I prefer to use it as a second cleanse so I can get the benefits of the active ingredients onto my skin after removing my makeup. The cleanser stays clear and watery until you actually add water and then it turns into a creamy, invigorating light milky foam. However, I should specify that it’s not a bubbly foam that strips the skin and is ultimately the bane of my skincare existence. It stays rich while still making my skin feel fresh without any residual tightness. Because of the active enzyme and its exfoliating properties, it does help to resurface the skin, improve tone and clarity. And I’ve been able to use it regularly, sometimes even twice a day and my skin never gets irritated rather it looks more vibrant and radiant each time. If you are looking for an alternative to glycolic acid based cleansers, this may be a perfect solution and one that delivers fantastic results.
