NARS blushes have been a staple in my makeup collection for years. Orgasm was one of the first blushes I ever purchased and still wear it to this day. While their multiple sticks and powder blushes are insanely popular, the NARS liquid blushes are often overlooked but shouldn’t be! The liquid blushes are exclusive to the NARS website and there are four shades in the collection. Years ago I wasn’t a liquid or cream blush/cheek product user but these liquid blushes really impressed me when I first tried them. I wasn’t sure what to expect from them, but since it was NARS I knew it would be one thing – PIGMENTED. Ha!
NARS Liquid Blushes with Swatches
The NARS Liquid Blushes only come in 4 shades, but they are best selling shades. Here are a bit more about the liquid blush shades:
Torrid
This shade is a warm coral with golden shimmer.
Orgasm
The iconic NARS blush shade. If you have never tried it, it is a sheer warm soft pink with golden shimmer.
Dolce Vita
This is a matte dusty rose.
Sex Appeal
Originally a shade was released called Luster, but it has been discontinued and Sex Appeal is the 4th shade. It is a soft peach shade.
I forgot to remove the cap in these pictures, but there is a pump dispenser that makes it easy to use and control. Now on to the swatches and how it performs on the skin.
NARS Liquid Blush Swatches
Swatches from left to right: Torrid, Luster (which is now discontinued), Orgasm and Dolce Vita
To give you an idea of just how pigmented these are, the first picture is with only ONE PUMP. And that was a tiny pump! The formula allows for adequate drying time so you aren’t racing against the clock to apply and blend, but once it dries down it stays put all day. While it is long wearing, it doesn’t stain the skin and I found it easy to remove with just my nighttime cleanser. My favorite shade to wear is Orgasm as I find it gives a beautiful peachy glow to the cheeks. However, the other 3 shades need a very light hand if you have fair skin. But the upside to that is I think these will be suitable for most skin tones because of their rich pigmentation and ability to be blended out if necessary. I initially was using my finger to apply and buff out with a makeup sponge, but also enjoy applying with a buffing brush for a more airbrushed finish.
With cream and liquid blushes being a huge trend right now, these are a great formula to try. When I initially tried them, they were a total surprise for me and a product I did not anticipate loving as much as I did!
A few other NARS blush formulas to consider if you are browsing their site:
-
- Powder Blush – This is the original blush formula and still one of the best. Highly pigmented and easy to blend. There are TONS of shades and something for every skin tone. There are 23 shades in this range (Orgasm is still my all time favorite).
-
- The Multiple – A versatile makeup stick that can be used to highlight, sculpt or add color the cheeks or face. These are a best seller for a reason and the texture is so creamy and smooth. There are 9 shades in this range.
-
- Afterglow Liquid Blush – Compared the the original liquid blush formula, this is much more sheer and lightweight. It gives just a slight tint to the cheeks. If you want an intense look, you will definitely have to build it up. There are 9 shades in this range.
-
- Air Matte Blush – This formula is so unique. It’s a mousse-like cream that transforms into a velvety smooth powder finish on the cheeks. There are 4 shades in this range.
- Bronzing Cream – Though not a blush, these cream bronzers are super popular! There are 5 shades in the range.
-
- Bronzing Powder – Along with the powder blush, the NARS bronzing powder is iconic and continues to be a top seller. There are 9 shades in this range.
